Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano was awarded an Oscar. Early on her acclaimed actress started performing on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. She is a lover of acting from the time she started high school. Her first role in a production in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost her hearing in the left ear. She did not let that stop her. As a teenager she studied drama, and then moved in New York City. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut due to a chance meeting with Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Following her move into Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in a variety of shows and TV films in a long career that spans over three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
