Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her acting career began in Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. The actress is a lover of acting ever since she started high school. Her first role in a show in the fifth grade was Helen Keller. The actress was deaf in one ear after suffering from Mumps, but she didn't permit this to deter her determination to become an actress. When she was in college studying drama after which she relocated to New York City with her goals with her sights set. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. Her first film role was as an actress supporting the leading character Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles she has appeared in many films, TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
